CHAMPION LAUNCHES RE:BOUND. SUSTAINABLE STREETWEAR INSPIRED BY UP-CYCLING

In an exciting Champion world-first, on August 4th, the innovative athletic and streetwear brand will launch its inaugural line of sustainable streetwear crafted from recycled cotton cuttings, typically discarded during production. 

 

 Champion’s Re:Bound collection is constructed from 45% pre-consumer recycled cotton that has been transformed into a premium collection of high-quality women’s, men’s and genderless basics. Champion’s Reverse Weave fabric is durable, shrink resistant and made to last.

To launch the collection, Champion has partnered with prominent Australian influencers, up-cyclers and sustainability advocates Philip O’Donahoo and Jaida The Creator, to star in the campaign, and to create unique, one-of-a-kind pieces from the Re:Bound fabric used as the backdrop to the shoot.

 

The Process

 

1.     Rescue Waste

Re:Bound reclaims excess fabric discarded during production.

 

2.     Recycle

This fabric is blended with virgin cotton and spun into new yarn.

 

3.     Rope Dye

The yarn is then dipped into indigo baths to create a denim wash.
